Participants will be introduced to the use of checklists and cognitive aids and learn how to incorporate these tools into the prevention, recognition, diagnosis, and management of common medical emergencies in the dental office.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the P-A-B-C-D algorithm.
  • Develop and implement a pre-operative checklist.
  • Utilize cognitive aids for managing medical emergencies.
  • Describe initial treatments for the most common medical emergencies encountered in dental practice.
